Ouzo Discobolus Olympic Games

ouzo diskovolos

Product Description

Quality Greek OUZO, in a glass bottle of an athlete. The statue represents the discus thrower, an athlete of ancient GREEK OLYMPIC GAMES.

The image illustrated above is the only marble copy that has survived with the original head intact. It is currently in the statuary collection of the National Museum of Rome. Four other ancient Roman marble copies of the Discus Thrower are known to exist. Two are in the collection of the Vatican Museum in Rome, one is in the British Museum in London and one is in the Louvre in Paris. The statue in the British Museum was incorrectly repaired and the head is turned back towards the discus. Even though it has been determined that this is wrong – this copy is probably the most photographed version of the discobolos.
